H. Wingfield Glover, III, “Winky,” has been with Glover, Young, Walton & Simmons, PLLC, since 1993. Prior to working with Glover, Young, Walton & Simmons, Winky practiced in Denver, Colorado, with the firm of Holme Roberts & Owen and in Crested Butte, Colorado, with Starr & Associates PC. Winky graduated from Mississippi State University and double majored in economics and banking and finance. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi in 1988 and LLM in taxation from New York University in 1989. Winky was a member of the University of Mississippi law journal while in law school. Winky works mainly in the tax and business and individual planning areas, which include estate planning and administration, asset-protection planning, and business reorganization and transactional work. Winky also works in matters regarding tax-exempt status and serves as counsel to several tax-exempt organizations. Winky is a member of the Lauderdale County and American bar associations. He is also a member of Central United Methodist Church in Meridian, where he is involved in youth and church business affairs, and has served on the boards of several local organizations, including the East Mississippi Foothills Land Trust, Meridian Community Development and Investment Corporation, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Meridian Symphony Orchestra, and on the Executive Committee and Endowment Committee of the Boy Scouts of America Choctaw Area Council. Winky is married to Becky Heavner Glover from Tupelo, Mississippi, and they have a son, Hamp. Becky is a parent coach for Parents for Public Schools, a national organization that works to build coalitions of parents and community organizations to support and strengthen quality public schools in our communities. Hamp is a 2009 graduate of Meridian High School with plans to attend Mississippi State University.
