Ralph E. Young, Jr.
Ralph E. Young, Jr., is a Meridian native and has been actively engaged in the practice of law in Meridian since 1968. Ralph received a BBA degree from the University of Mississippi with a major in banking and finance. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi in 1967. After graduating from law school, Ralph served as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Mississippi. Ralph’s practice focuses primarily on corporate law, business law, commercial real estate, banks and banking, probate, trusts and estates, and collections. He is general counsel for several corporations, and is also general counsel for the Meridian Airport Authority. Ralph was elected a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation in 1996 and elected a fellow of the American Bar Foundation in 2007. He was named by Law & Politics magazine to its 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 lists of Mid-South Super Lawyers. He is “AV” rated (the top classification) by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell lawyer rating system. Ralph served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Mississippi Law Alumni Association. He also served as a member of the State Judicial Nominations Committee during the administration of former Governor William Winter. He is a member of the Lauderdale County Bar Association (former president), The Mississippi Bar, and the American Bar Association. Ralph was a member of the Mississippi Air National Guard from 1968 to 1975 and served as a member of the Judge Advocate General Office during that period. Ralph has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Meridian Community College since 1984 (having served as chairman five times). He is a member of the Board of Directors and an officer of the G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery Foundation. Ralph is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where he has held several offices, including that of Senior Warden. He has served as president of the Meridian Community College Foundation and the Meridian Museum of Art. He has also served as chairman of the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross and as chairman of the Meridian Corps of The Salvation Army. Ralph’s wife, Martha, is a real estate agent employed by Wilson Realty. They have three children, Ted Young, Allison Record, and Carrie Lewis. Ralph’s practice focuses primarily on corporate law, business law, commercial real estate, banks and banking, probate, trusts and estates, and collections.<< Back |
